MammoCAT - Redefines Standards

_

MammoCAT is a groundbreaking system from Fischer Imaging that redefines standards for digital mammography and tomosynthesis. Designed to provide superior image quality with reduced radiation exposure and enhanced patient comfort, it is at the forefront of breast imaging technology.

How is MammoCAT different?

Mammography systems today rely on decades-old cone-beam technology, which produces substantial scattered radiation. This scatter appears as a fog in the image and reduces image contrast, making it difficult to see the subtle differences in x-ray attenuation associated with breast cancer.  Although anti-scatter grids help reduce scatter, their finite grid ratio limits their effectiveness and exacts a penalty of higher radiation dose.

MammoCAT is based on our proprietary slot scanning technology which eliminates scattered radiation from the measurement without the use of a grid, allowing high-resolution, high-contrast imaging with reduced radiation.

MammoCAT is Mammography – Only better.

Despite its limitations, mammography remains the best balance of accuracy, practicality, and cost-effectiveness for early breast cancer detection. There are many technologies in use or in development, but none has replaced mammography as the frontline screening tool for all women. In an arena as demanding as breast cancer detection, new technologies take years to develop, mature, and validate. By fixing the fundamental failings of mammography Fischer Imaging’s MammoCAT addresses an urgent need to help save lives lost to breast cancer today.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Early Detection & High-Resolution Imaging: Captures superior structural detail to find smaller abnormalities sooner, especially in dense breast tissue.
  • Increased Contrast: Proprietary gridless slot-scanning minimizes scatter for exceptionally crisp, clear images.
  • Pain-Free Adaptive Compression: Maximizes patient comfort and eliminates the dreaded "painful squeeze," encouraging regular screening compliance.
  • Safer, Low-Radiation Dose: Integrates both advanced digital mammography and tomosynthesis into one comprehensive, ultra-low-dose device.
